The Academy of Floral Art Floristry Training College, NSW, Australia, is a long established school for Hobbyists and Commercial Florists; being the first school of its kind established in Sydney, apart from TAFE.

Here we offer you a one-to-one learning experience and you will be fortunate in having the same teacher for your entire Course, you will receive personalised attention and constructive criticism during each class, which helps you understand your lessons better and in the long-term this makes all the difference to your confidence level.

The Academy has placed many successful Florists all around Sydney and New South Wales, also Overseas, in U.S.A., Canada and Asian countries.  Many students have purchased shops or established their own businesses. A large number have Wedding Specialist businesses or a Corporate based clientele.

You will make friends sharing the same passion with you and some of your friendships may even be life-long. Some classes have actually stuck together throughout the years.

At the end of each year a Celebration Dinner is held for the Awards and Certificate Presentation Night. Certificates are given after 1 full year of Classes have been completed, assessments are carried out each term throughout the year. Workshops and Intense Courses are also offered at other times of the year; you will need to contact us to find out when these are being held.

The Academy of Floral Art, Floristry Training College offers its students 100% hands on flower arranging without all the paperwork and time spent on exams.  The Academy works to assist their students in gaining confidence through the large number of floral designs completed throughout the year of practical study and after proving their competence within their floristry expertise, following and understanding the concepts of design; gaining a thorough knowledge of all the variety of flowers; hands-on experience is given to students and shop procedures and training in selling, serving customers and answering the phone, including taking flower orders, quoting on Wedding Flowers, learning and understanding the Computer operations necessary within Floristry; thus enabling students to find employment and work within the industry or, to establish their own business.

After achieving the Advanced Certificate and reaching a high professional level, they may also choose another area of Floristry that they may be interested in. There are many specialist areas in industry; namely Corporate, Special Events, Window Design, Wedding Specialist,  Marketing, wholesale and retail; import and export of flowers and wholesale and retail florist sundries.

Like all businesses, there is much competition amongst Florist Shops and these days with 'Online-Shopping', Florists have become highly competitive. The Academy will equip you with the confidence that is needed to succeed in this growing industry.
